De Anza Dons softball team scored a single point throughout their match against Ohlone College.
Both teams kept their score still throughout the first innings until Ohlone scored their first point at the top of the second. They scored four more points in the third inning.
At the bottom of the fourth shortstop, Carmen Urtecho (12) stole third and ohlone made an error allowing her the first run of the game.
“I feel like we really improved on communication and being in the game mentally,” said Urtecho, “We need to improve on our hitting and becoming more aware of our strike zones.”
“Today has been one of our best games,” said coach, Megan Finney Kravets. “We were pretty solid all around we just need to work on attacking the ball.”
Although their 9-1 score was not too praise-worthy, the team’s positive attitude powered through the loss.
“Our team is definitely getting stronger,” said Adrienne Hernandez, “This game was a big improvement from previous ones.”
